Why Not Forever
PIANO SOLOS
Larry Dunlap plays Amandio
Cabral

"Amandio Cabral has created a truly outstanding
composition consisting of piano works which he calls
romantic songs. From the first to the last note, they
are simple, direct without pretension and above all,
beautiful. It is a matter of record that a number of
modern and contemporary composers in the classic vein
have at various times created works in the jazz idiom.
Among these are Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Ravel,
Milhaud, etc. In Cabral's case we have that rare
instance of a contemporary Cape Verde folk blues
composer coming from the opposite end of the musical
spectrum creating a work which will undoubtedly be
recognized and hailed as a classic." -Michael
L. George, San
Francisco
